Suarez
When they met Marc Pinilla (photos), the brothers Max and Pata Njava and their cousin Dada Ravalison, three Madagascan musicians, had already achieved success on the world music scene with their group Njava. The charisma of the young economics student who came to their studio in Mons to record some demos led them to form a group called Suarez, named after the first Portuguese colonist to arrive in Madagascar.
As soon as they released their first single “On attend” in 2008, the group found its audience. Suarez mixes different musical styles with French lyrics to produce tracks like “Ni rancoeur ni colère”, “Qu'est-ce que j'aime ça”, “L'indécideur”, and more.
The photos below were taken during their performance at the Fêtes de Wallonie in 2024.
